New Vaults Café opens at 2, King Edward Street Oxford

After the sad news that the Vaults and Garden Café was forced out of its premises in the University Church of St Mary's, it is a pleasure to announce that the business has re-located to an address nearby at 2, King Edward Street.

The saga of how the beloved café, one of central Oxford's most pleasant informal venues, was evicted from St Mary's by the vicar, is one that would take the pen of Anthony Trollope - and an expert on church property and leasehold law - to write adequately. Suffice it to say that the Reverend Ecclesiastic has not made himself any more popular by conducting this long drawn out legal battle. The many friends and loyal customers of the café will be somewhat consoled to know that they can still find its freshly cooked and locally sourced food at the new address with the same friendly welcome.
